Two Chinese entered the country with a passport bought by Wei letters

In one rare case, entry checks at United States airports were found. Two Chinese passengers arrived by plane from Mexico at John Wayne Airport, Orange County, Southern California, on suspicion of presenting a genuine United States passport belonging to other United States citizens。

The passport was real, but it was not correct, and the airport identity check quickly found anomalies. The United States Department of Justice has published details of the case. They are now under federal criminal prosecutionThey face up to 10 years ' imprisonment。

The defendants were Jin Fu Wei, a 44-year-old man from Guangxi, and Xiaodan Lei, a 47-year-old woman from Henan. Both were charged with passport abuse and have been in federal custody since their arrest in August and first appeared before the Los Angeles Federal District Court on 29 September。

According to the affidavit submitted with the criminal indictment, on 26 August this year, Wei Kingford and Rae Xiaodan took a commercial flight from Los Cabos International Airport, Mexico, to John Wayne Airport, Santa Anna, Orange County, California。

UPON ARRIVAL AT THE U.S. PORTS OF ENTRY, EACH OF THEM PRESENTED AN AMERICAN PASSPORT TO THE U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION (CBP) OFFICIALSHe wants to be checked for United States citizenship and enter the countryI don't know。

The problem soon arose at the identity check。

THE CBP INSPECTION FOUND THAT THE PASSPORTS PRODUCED BY THE TWO INDIVIDUALS WERE NOT SIMPLY FAKE PASSPORTS, BUT WERE GENUINE AMERICAN CITIZENS, BUT THAT THE BIOMETRICS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PASSPORTS CLEARLY DID NOT CORRESPOND TO THE IMMEDIATE HOLDER。

After further facial recognition scans, staff members found that neither Wei Jinford nor Rae Xiaodam had facial features that matched the United States passports they presented。

ANOTHER ANOMALY WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS: NEITHER THE TRUE NAMES OF WEI JINFORD NOR RAE XIAODAM APPEARED ON THE OFFICIAL PASSENGER LIST FOR THE FLIGHT. CBP THEN DETAINED THE TWO PERSONS AND FURTHER EXAMINED THEIR IDENTITY AND ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER THE UNITED STATES。

During the examination of the items accompanying Wei Jinford, investigators found additional documents and bank cards that were not consistent with the identity of the United States passport they held. He had a domestic credit card and a Chinese bank card, both of which were registered in Wei Jin Fu ' s real name。

In addition, he carried with him an expired Texas licence, which belonged to the real holder of the United States passport he used。

As the investigation progressed, an unidentified “intermediary” emerged behind the case. According to the media, according to court documents, Wei Kingford and Rae Xiaodan told investigators that they had not known each other before, but rather separatedContact was made with an unidentified person through Twitter。

The other party was responsible for arranging their journey to Mexico and helping to obtain passports for entry into the United States。

According to the accounts provided to the investigators, they would have contacted the intermediary on Twitter again when they entered the United States. They will then be met and taken away with two United States passports and returned with their own Chinese passports。

Court documents show that at least one of the true holders of the United States passport involved had a record of arrest and crime in the past, but both Wei Kingford and Rae Xiaodan indicated that they were not aware of the true holder of the passport。

This case has been brought to the attention of the federal prosecution。

Bill Essayli, First Assistant Federal Attorney for the Central District of California, stated that the suspected entry of two Chinese nationals using passports belonging to genuine United States citizens involved not only criminal offences but also security issues related to entry under false identities。

He stressed the need for law enforcement to ascertain who had entered the United States and the true identity of those who had entered the country。
